Alan Lyszczarczyk has continued to excel in the OHL this season. This weekend in three games, Lyszczarczyk put up 3 goals and 3 assists. The weekend started with a Friday night matchup versus the Flint Firebirds. Lyszczarczyk’s second assist in the game, which would be on the game-winning goal, would give Lyszczarczyk a new career high in points with 51. On Saturday the Steelheads would face off against, Lyszczarczyk’s former team, the Owen Sound Attack. With the score tied 3-3, Lyszczarczyk would score 3 straight goals for his first career hattrick. He scored the goals in a total of 8 minutes and 55 seconds. The first goal of the natural hattrick would be his 22nd goal of the season, breaking his previous career high in goals.
In the final game of the weekend, Lyszczarczyk would add one more assist. His assist was the primary assist on Cole Carters’ 28th goal of the year that would give the Steelheads a 2-1 lead. The game would end in a 3-2 victory for the Steelhead over Sarnia Sting. Despite the team trading star players Owen Tippet and Ryan Mcleoud, the Steelheads have won three straight and sit third in their division. This month has been one of the best of Lyszczarczyk’s career with only being held pointless once in January. In total during January, he has 7 goals and 10 assists in 9 games.
