We are just a week away from Poland competing at the World Championship for the first time in 22 years. Even with the big event on the way, THL clubs were still active. Some clubs even picked up projected members of the World Championship team.

Beginning of the Offseason (Week 1)

Week of April 22nd (Week 2)

Cracovia Krakow

  • Cracovia was able to steal two players away from GKS Tychy this past week. The first is national team defender Oskar Jaśkiewicz. After going pointless in 49 games in 2023, Jaśkiewicz rebounded with 19 points (2G-17A-19PTS) in 46 games in 2024. The 23-year-old had attracted a lot of interest in the offseason.
  • Szymon Marzec will move to a sixth PHL team in his journeyman career. Marzec had played in Tychy over the last four seaons. In 2024, he had a rough regular season, only recording seven points (5G-2A-7PTS) in 40 games, but he rebounded in the playoffs with six (1G-5A-6PTS) in 13 games.

Outside a three-year stint with Tychy, he has played for his hometown team for most of his career. In 823 games, he has 59 goals and 144 assists. Górny has also won three THL championships and three Polish Cups.
  • The club was able to acquire a member of Oswiecim’s championship squad, Jan Sołtys. The 23-year-old was once one of the top prospects but has struggled with injury issues over the past few years. He will now return to JKH GKS Jastrzebie, where he played his youth hockey, hoping to play a more prominent role.
