It is officially the decade of Polonia Bytom. Poland’s top women’s hockey league, the TAURON Liga Hokeja Kobiet (TLHK), has concluded for 2025. Once again, the league was won by Polonia Bytom, who have been the champions for 10 straight years. It is their 14th title overall.
The league saw quite a couple big changes from last year. First, KH Wiedzmy 71 Wroclaw would leave the league, dropping the count from ten teams to nine. Second, the league also ended the SMS Bytom experiment. That experiment saw Polonia Bytom only have a U18 squad of players who play the regular season. At the same time, the rest would focus on their European Women’s Hockey League season with Silesian Metropolis. The senior players would then return for the TLHK playoffs. SMS Bytom finished third in the league despite having only junior players.
One hundred ninety-three skaters and goalies played at least four games in the TLHK this year. Only three players were not Polish, two from Ukraine and one from Spain. The lowest average age in the league was 18.5, with the oldest being 23.6, a difference of 5.1 years. The oldest players in the league were 47, 44, and 43. The youngest players were 12 and 13.
All but six players called up for the national team camp play in the TLHK! While Bytom was once again the champion, how did the rest of the league fare?
1. BS Polonia Bytom. Regular Season Record: 16-0-0-0. Playoffs: Champions
What else is there to say about Polonia Bytom? They are one of the most dominant teams in all of European hockey. Ten straight championships, an entire decade of hockey belongs to them. They went undefeated in the regular season, with most games decided by double-digit goals. They won their first and second round in sweeps, outscoring their opponents 77-1. In the finals, they would come face-to-face with the only true rival to their throne, Naprzód Janów. They would win game one 4-2, setting up a chance to complete a perfect season. Instead, they would lose their only game of the year when Janów won game two 4-2. This set up a chance that Bytom’s streak would end. In as close of a match as you can get, Karolina Pozniewska scored the lone goal, giving Bytom the championship.
Pozniewska remains the best player the TLHK has ever seen with 147 points (64 G-83A-147PTS) in just 22 games. Fourteen Bytom players put up double-digit points. The rest of the league saw 41 players reach that number total. Ida Talanda and Wiktoria Dziwok both went over the 70-point mark. Patrycja Sfora led all defensemen in points with 36 (11G-25A-36PTS). During the season and playoff run, the team lost key veterans Alicja Wcislo, Klaudia Chrapek, Martyna Sass, and Olivia Tomczok. That didn’t matter as they just have so much talent.
MVP: Karolina Pozniewska

2. Kojotki Naprzód Janów K-CE. Regular Season Record: 13-2-1-0. Playoffs: Finals Loss
From 2019 to 2023, Naprzód Janów did not appear in the medal rounds. Now they have made it to the finals in back-to-back seasons. The team has become a typical home for some of Poland’s best players and top prospects. Hockey prodigies Malgorzata Zakrzewska and Justyna Koszyk were major parts. Zakrzewska led the team in points, while Koszyk was the starting goalie. Other notable members of Poland’s future include Natalia Nosal and Weronika Huchel. You combine those young stars with key veteran and national team stars like Ewelina Czarnecka, Kamila Wieczorek, Joanna Orawska, and Sylwia Łaskawska. The team also picked up Justyna Zyla, who spent last season in Sweden. It was undoubtedly the best roster any team outside Bytom has had in the past 10 years.
There were only two losses in the regular season, and both came to Polonia Bytom. It felt like the two were destined to meet again in the finals. In round one, things went quickly as they outscored Podhale 30-0 in the best-of-three series. Round two got a bit bumpy, as after taking game one, game two would go to Gdańsk. This set up a winner-takes-all match for game three. Game three was a 6-2 victory for the Coyotes, setting up the destined finals match. It would be an extremely tight series, and it felt like someone might finally end Bytom’s streak. Instead, with the series tied 1-1, Bytom would take game three with a 1-0 victory. If Janów sticks together, I believe they can break through and win the championship soon.
MVP: Malgorzata Zakrzewska

3. GKS Stoczniowiec Gdańsk. Regular Season Record: 12-3-0-1. Playoffs: Bronze Medal Series Win
For a long time, the TLHK was a two-team competition with Gdańsk meeting Bytom in the finals, then always coming up short. The reemergence of Janów has seen Gdańsk fall into the bronze medal series the past two years. But they have remained a dominant team in the league. They only dropped four games this year and went into the playoffs as a third seed. They would beat Oświęcim 4-2 twice to move on in round one. They would then lose a best-of-three series to Janów in a high-scoring match-up. They would win their second consecutive bronze medal by beating Tychy two games to none.
The team lost two leading scorers from 2024 in Alicja Siejka and Marta Goniszewska. But the team did see the return of Polish star Magdalena Łąpieś, who spent the previous year in Canada. Julia Lapinska and Łąpieś would form a solid one-two punch for Gdańsk, each finishing with 51 points on the season. Magdalena Mroszczak was also a big pick-up from Podhale and set a new career high with 29 points. Dominika Korkuz and Natalia Kaminska led a solid defense.
MVP: Julia Lapinska
4. SKKH Atomówki GKS Tychy. Regular Season Record: 8-8-0-0. Playoffs: Bronze Medal Series Loss
Tychy came in fourth in the standings and finished with a .500 record. The team was missing some key players for much of the year, but that didn’t stop them going from sixth-place in 2024 to fourth in 2025. Aleksandra Gorska stepped up to lead the squad in points. Aleksandra Kopala, Lena Olbrych, and Zuzanna Rduch also had good years providing depth scoring. Having Oliwia Garbocz and Wiktoria Kędra on the back end is also a significant help. Katarzyna Radomska’s numbers took a slight dip in goal, but her time in the EWHL showed she is still among Poland’s best.
After missing the bronze medal series last year, Tychy was determined to return, and they did just that. They got some huge help for the playoffs with the return of Anna Pezda and Katarzyna Frackowiak. This was the first time former Poland captain Katarzyna Frackowiak played in the TLHK since 2019. They won their round 1 series against PTH Kozice Poznań but fell to Polonia Bytom in the semi-finals. They fought strongly against Gdańsk for the bronze but dropped two games to nothing with a combined score of 8-4.
MVP: Aleksandra Gorska

5. PTH Kozice Poznań. Regular Season Record: 7-9-0-0. Playoffs: Quarterfinals Loss
The youngest team in the league. Their average age was 18.5, and they are the only team in the league under 19. Despite how young the team was, they finished in the top five. Agata Cybulska, Antonina Kaczmarek, Emilia Stankiewicz, Oliwia Wroniecka, and Weronika Świątek are all 16 and under while being major contributors. The team could use some veteran help, with Roksana Szymczak being the only regular in the lineup over 20 years old. Still, the kids are alright and had a good year. In the playoffs, they would fall to Tychy in two games with a combined score of 8-3.
MVP: Agata Cybulska
6. UKHK Unia Oświęcim. Regular Season Record: 6-10-0-0. Playoffs: Quarterfinals Loss
Oświęcim’s streak of making it to the bronze medal series has ended. A few key young players headed to the Polonia Bytom organization, creating unfilled gaps in the lineup. Anna Kot, who also serves as a coach, continues to be the star of this group and a top player in the TLHK. Her 35 points were tied for tenth in the league. Katarzyna Zaborska also posted a new career high with 16 points. Dominika Dlugosz posted some good numbers in her debut year, forming a strong duo with Anna Pieczyk. The squad put up a strong fight against Gdańsk in the quarterfinals, but just came up short, losing both games 4-2
MVP: Anna Kot
7. MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ. Regular Season Record: 4-12-0-0. Playoffs: Quarterfinals Loss
The best Podhale team of the year! It was a step back, points-wise, but that is expected for most teams with the absence of KH Wiedzmy 71 Wroclaw and the return of Polonia Bytom to the regular season. Poland U18 goalie Alicja Kobiela took over as the starter. She would have ups and downs in her first year as the number one option. Losing Magdalena Mroszczak to Gdańsk hurt this squad offensively. No one could replace that offense as the team scored the fewest goals in the league at 15. They were unfortunately no match for Janów in the quarter finals, losing both games with a combined score of 30-0.
MVP: Alicja Gacek
8. UKH Białe Jastrzębie. Regular Season Record: 1-14-1-0. Playoffs: Quarterfinals Loss
Jastrzębie was the last team to make the playoffs as they picked up a couple of wins over Cracovia. Despite avoiding last place in the standings, they were last in goals for and against. Martyna Kolorz would score seven of the team’s 16 total goals. Emma Gilga also had a strong year, being involved in under half of the team’s goals. Monika Chodak took on most of the reps in goal during the regular season, but was unavailable for the playoffs. The less said about their round one performance, the better.
MVP: Martyna Kolorz
9. KS Cracovia 1906. Regular Season Record: 1-14-0-1. Playoffs: Missed
The lone team to miss the playoffs this year was KS Cracovia 1906. It was a slightly better year for them. Despite two fewer games, they were able to pick up an additional point. Justyna Suchon had a much better year in the net, helping them trim off quite a few goals against. Only having Karolina Baran and Małgorzata Synowiec for half their games limited the team offensively. Magdalena Olszewska once again was the star of this squad. She led the team with 8 points (5G-3A-8PTS).
MVP: Magdalena Olszewska
