The top level of women’s hockey in Poland, the TAURON Ligi Hokeja Kobiet, will continue in 2025, with nine teams playing a 16-game schedule. BS Polonia Bytom will look to defend its title for a tenth straight season. The league has only become more competitive as women’s hockey has grown in Poland, and now the question is whether a team can stop Bytom from extending their streak to double digits. Last year, Bytom faced its biggest threat, when Kojotki Naprzód Janów went undefeated in the regular season before meeting Bytom in the finals. Read our full recap of last season here

The teams for the 2024-25 are BS Polonia Bytom, Kojotki Naprzód Janów, GKS Stoczniowiec Gdańsk, UKHK Unia Oświęcim, PTH Kozice Poznań, SKKH Atomówki GKS Tychy, MMKS Podhale Nowy Targ, UKH Białe Jastrzębie, KS Cracovia 1906. The only team to not return from the previous season will be KH Wiedźmy 71 Wrocław, which finished ninth place last year in their debut season. It also seems the league will do away with the SMS Bytom experiment, which saw Bytom only play the U18 players until the playoffs. In the playoffs, Bytom saw veteran stars return to the roster after they had spent their club season playing in the European Women’s Hockey League (EWHL) with the Polish club Silesian Metropolis.

The regular season will start on September 7th, 2024, with a rematch of last year’s final as BS Polonia Bytom will take on Kojotki Naprzód Janów. The 16-game regular season will run until January 25th, 2025, you can view the full schedule here. The playoffs will start on February 1st, with the finals matchups set for February 19th, 22nd, and 23rd if necessary. Playoff dates are subject to change based on the Polish national team’s performance in the Olympic qualifiers and the EWHL.
