The middle of July is here, and teams around the THL are starting to announce that their rosters are finished. Most of the national team has been locked up to new deals, and only a few Polish players are left with their club status up in the air. It was a slow week, as we had more rumors than official news. I only like to report on the official moves, but expect news soon on Murray returning to GKS Katowice next year, Zygmunt staying with HC Litvínov, and some Swedish imports joining Cracovia and Sanok.
Cracovia Krakow
- No moves this week.
GKS Katowice
- No moves this week.
GKS Tychy
- There were no moves this week, but Tychy did announce their roster was closed and showed off their entire squad.
JKH GKS Jastrzebie
- No moves this week.
KH Torun
- Torun made a big move for their defense in Finnish defender Jesper Henriksson. Last season, the soon-to-be-25-year-old defenseman was an assistant captain on Hokki in the Mestis. He has only played senior hockey in the Finnish second level, with 57 points (13G-44A-57PTS) in 134 games. The Oulu native came up in the HIFK and Jokerit junior systems.
Podhale Nowy Targ
- No moves this week.
STS Sanok
- Veteran power forward Marek Strzyżowski will stay with Sanok for a 14th season. Last year, he came out of retirement mid-season and made a quick impact with 10 points (6G-4A-10PTS) in 17 games. The former national team forward has played in 560 THL games, scored 124 goals, and assisted on 162 while spending 887 minutes in the penalty box. He has played with Sanok for almost his entire career except for two years with GKS Katowice from 2017 to 2018. The two-time THL champion represented Poland at the 2013 and 2014 World Championships.
Unia Oswiecim
- No moves this week.
Zaglebie Sosnowiec
- No moves this week.
Polish Players Abroad
- Martin Przygodzki will be staying in the second level of Slovak hockey. The 32-year-old forward will switch clubs and move to HC 19 Humenné. Last season, Przygodzki spent time at both the top and second level. He went pointless in seven games in the first league with HK Poprad but had 19 points (7G-12-19PTS) in 38 games with the AquaCity Pikes in the second league. The Trecin Slovakia native came up in his local junior system but moved to Poland when he was 20. He spent the next 12 years in Poland for various clubs, scoring 142 goals while assisting on 177. He started representing the Polish national team in 2019 and was on Team Poland at two Olympic Qualifier events.
- Junior goalie Juliusz Ceglinski will move up to the U20 squad for VHK Vsetin. The 17-year-old appeared in 26 games with the Vsetin U17 squad in 2024, which plays in the second level of Czech U17 hockey, notching a regular season 1.94 goals against average. He also appeared with Poland U18 at a few junior non-IIHF events.
